The WS should discuss and take stock of the stock position of the branch daily
Check and ensure the weighing scale is in a working condition and batteries are fully charged
Function as per the lifting details received from Sales & Dispatch executive on the field application and get detailed instruction from Sales & Dispatch executive on the volume of chicks to be dispatched
Additionally, the WS needs to take inputs on average weight and route options to the farms in coordination with Line Supervisor (LS)
Before leaving for weighment:
Take details of the trader and vehicles which will be sent to the farm for dispatching
Ensure DC book is taken along with enough copies and duplicate sheets
Additionally, ensure weighing scale and calculator are ready and carried
Enquire with the farmer on lighting options in the farm and if required, the WS has to carry emergency lights / electric lamps to ease the process of lifting
Arrange for the labour required depending on the volume of the lifting and size of the trader vehicles
Feed control time is to be confirmed with the farmer and update accordingly in the field application
Good Practice guidelines for WS before lifting:
Ensure to reach the farm at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time of lifting
Provide details to the farmer on the volume of the birds which will be lifted and enquire regarding any concerns from the farmer
Reassure the farmer that the process of lifting is fair and will be done smoothly by WS and labour
Ensure the lighting arrangement is in place before the lifting begins
Make sure, basic amenities like water are provided to the labour during lifting
Take details from trader representative and cross check whether the volume of lifting indicated by Sales & Dispatch executive is same as the volume expected by the trader
