Position: Carpenter
Job Summary:
The Furniture Carpenter at Rentomojo is responsible for handling carpentry tasks related to the
maintenance, repair, and assembly of furniture provided on a rental basis. The Carpenter plays a crucial
role in ensuring the quality and functionality of rental furniture, contributing to customer satisfaction and
the overall success of Rentomojo's furniture rental business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform repair and maintenance tasks on rental furniture, including:
● Repairing damaged wooden furniture, such as tables, chairs, cabinets, and bed frames.
● Refinishing surfaces, applying varnish, paint, or other finishes to restore appearance.
● Replacing worn-out parts, hinges, handles, and locks as necessary.
● Upholstering or reupholstering furniture pieces as needed.
2. Assemble and disassemble furniture based on rental requirements and customer requests.
3. Inspect rental furniture for damages or defects before delivery and ensure they meet
Rentomojo's quality standards.
4. Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate repair and maintenance schedules and
prioritize tasks.
5. Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any carpentry-related concerns or issues promptly
and professionally.
6. Maintain an inventory of carpentry tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working
condition and properly stored.
7. Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while performing carpentry tasks to prevent
accidents and injuries.
8. Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory levels related to furniture.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and techniques related to furniture carpentry to
enhance job performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
● High school diploma or equivalent training
● Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role, with a focus on furniture repair or assembly.
● Proficient in using carpentry tools and equipment, such as saws, drills, sanders, and measuring
devices.
● Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and finishes related to furniture.
● Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals specific to furniture.
● Detail-oriented with good manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
● Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
● Effective communication and customer service skills.
● Physical stamina and the ability to lift and maneuver heavy furniture.
● Valid driver's license
