Job Title: CNC Machine Operator
Job Summary:
A CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, programming machines, and ensuring quality control. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in operating CNC machinery, a qualification in a technical field such as Mechanical, Electrical, or related disciplines, and be open to a negotiable salary based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Machine Setup and Operation**:
- Set up CNC machines by installing and adjusting tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Operate CNC machines to produce parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
2. **Programming and Editing**:
- Program CNC machines using G-code or other programming languages.
- Edit machine programs to optimize performance and ensure accuracy.
3. **Quality Control**:
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to maintain product quality.
4. **Maintenance**:
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines, tools, and equipment.
5. **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate records of machine operations, including setup, production, and maintenance activities.
- Report any discrepancies, defects, or issues to supervisors and recommend corrective actions.
6. **Safety and Compliance**:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
7. **Collaboration and Teamwork**:
- Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to meet production goals.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in CNC machining or a related field preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating CNC machines.
- **Skills**:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of CNC programming languages, such as G-code.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- **Certifications**: CNC certification is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily conducted in a manufacturing environment.
