Description

A Printer Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of printing equipment. This role requires a strong technical understanding of printer hardware, software, and networking. The engineer will diagnose and resolve printer issues, provide technical support to customers, and ensure optimal printer performance.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and Configuration:
    • Install and configure various printer models at customer sites.
    • Set up network connections and printer drivers.
    • Test printer functionality and performance.
  • Maintenance and Repair:
    • Perform routine preventive maintenance on printers.
    • Troubleshoot and repair printer hardware and software issues.
    • Replace defective printer parts.
    • Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables.
  • Customer Support:
    • Provide technical support to customers over the phone or on-site.
    • Explain printer operation and troubleshooting steps to customers.
    • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Documentation:
    • Complete service reports and maintain accurate records.
    • Document troubleshooting steps and solutions.
  • Stay Updated:
    • Attend training sessions to stay updated on new printer models and technologies.
    • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Electronics or related field.
  • Proven experience in printer repair and maintenance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of printer hardware and software.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites.
