Installation:
Setting up new electrical systems and equipment based on blueprints and technical diagrams.
Maintenance:
Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the reliable operation of electrical systems and equipment.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical equipment and systems using various testing devices and tools.
Repair:
Fixing or replacing faulty wiring, components, or equipment using hand and power tools.
Calibration:
Calibrating instruments and equipment to ensure they function accurately and meet specific requirements.
Following Safety Procedures:
Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and regulations.
Specific Tasks and Duties:
Reading Technical Documents:
Interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
Working with Different Systems:
Handling lighting systems, HVAC systems, security systems, and more complex electrical machinery.
Utilizing Specialized Tools:
Using voltmeters, cable testers, thermal scanners, and other tools to identify and diagnose electrical problems.
Repairing and Replacing Components:
Using tools like screwdrivers, saws, drills, and wire strippers to repair or replace damaged components.
Working with Control Systems:
May be involved in programming, calibrating, and optimizing control systems like PLCs and SCADA systems.
