
Job Summary:
Responsible for operating furnace and induction hardening machines to perform heat treatment processes on metal components, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production targets. The role requires technical knowledge of thermal processing, basic maintenance, and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate various types of heat treatment equipment, including furnaces (batch/continuous) and induction hardening machines.
Load and unload components into machines as per process parameters.
Monitor and control temperatures, cycle times, and quenching processes according to heat treatment charts.
Set up and adjust machine parameters for different part types and materials.
Conduct routine inspections and quality checks using hardness testers, microstructure analysis, or other relevant instruments.
Maintain production and process records (e.g., furnace logbooks, cycle data, inspection reports).
Ensure compliance with safety standards and use of PPE.
Perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of machines.
Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to resolve issues.
Follow 5S, TPM, and Lean Manufacturing practices in the work area.
Education:
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or related discipline.
Experience:
0–1 years of hands-on experience in operating furnace and/or induction hardening machines.
Experience in heat treatment of automotive, tool, or general engineering components is preferred.
Skills:
Understanding of heat treatment processes like hardening, tempering, annealing, etc.
Familiarity with hardness testing equipment (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers).
Basic knowledge of metallurgy and material behavior under heat treatment.
Ability to read and interpret process sheets and technical drawings.
Awareness of ISO/TS/IATF 16949 quality systems is an advantage.
