Job Title: Transport Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Transport Manager to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our transport and delivery activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods, managing fleet operations, supervising transport staff, and maintaining high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and monitor transport operations, including scheduling routes and managing vehicle dispatch.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, health & safety laws, and company policies.
Supervise and manage drivers and other transport staff, including performance evaluation and training.
Monitor and manage transport budgets, costs, and KPIs to ensure profitability and efficiency.
Maintain vehicle records, schedule servicing and repairs, and ensure roadworthiness of the fleet.
Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery and resolve transportation issues.
Implement and improve transport policies, processes, and systems to optimize performance.
Prepare regular reports on transport activities, incidents, fuel usage, and costs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience (3–5 years minimum) in transport, logistics, or fleet management.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
In-depth knowledge of transport regulations and fleet maintenance requirements.
Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver’s license; CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is an advantage.
