
A MEP Tender Engineer is responsible for preparing competitive and compliant technical and commercial tenders for MEP systems in construction projects. This role is key in the pre-construction phase and involves analyzing project requirements, estimating costs, and coordinating with design, procurement, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Tender Preparation & Submission
Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
Identify scope of work and prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
Develop cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Prepare technical and commercial bid submissions in compliance with client requirements.
Cost Estimation & Analysis
Perform quantity take-offs.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Collaborate with internal teams (design, procurement, project management).
Attend site visits and tender meetings if required.
Value Engineering & Risk Analysis
Propose cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality.
Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of tenders and costing sheets.
Prepare comparison sheets and tender evaluation reports.
