
Job Summary:
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment. This includes ensuring electrical safety, supporting uninterrupted production, and complying with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control systems, and equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance to avoid production downtime.
Troubleshoot electrical faults in machines and systems using testing devices.
Interpret and follow electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and layout plans.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and electrical codes (IE Rules).
Collaborate with mechanical and automation teams for machine commissioning and upgrades.
Maintain daily logs of electrical maintenance and service activities.
Inspect and test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring.
Support energy-saving initiatives and equipment efficiency improvements.
Attend to breakdowns and emergency repairs as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
ITI / Diploma in Electrician / Electrical Engineering.
1–5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician (freshers may also apply).
Sound knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, control panels, and PLC wiring.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
Experience with VFDs, relays, sensors, and control circuits is an added advantage.
Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Awareness of safety standards and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of PLC programming basics (optional).
Experience with automated production lines or CNC machinery.
Familiarity with energy management and power factor improvement systems.
Work Environment:
Industrial/manufacturing plant environment.
May involve shift duties and emergency call-ins.
