Description

Job Title: Pharmacist

Department: Pharmacy / Healthcare
Location: Thanjavur

Job Purpose

To ensure safe, effective, and compliant dispensing of medications while providing expert guidance to patients and healthcare professionals on pharmaceutical use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and validate prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and appropriateness
  • Dispense medications and counsel patients on dosage, side effects, and interactions
  • Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical supplies and ensure proper storage
  • Monitor patient medication therapies and suggest interventions when needed
  • Provide immunizations and basic health screenings (e.g., BP, sugar levels)
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and safety standards
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers for optimal patient care
  • Maintain accurate records of controlled substances and pharmacy operations

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
  • Valid license to practice as a pharmacist
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and dosage requirements
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software and inventory systems
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in hospital or retail pharmacy settings
  • Ability to interpret symptoms and recommend over-the-counter solutions
  • Knowledge of cosmetic and parapharmaceutical products
  • Proactive in staying updated with medical advancements
