
The Field Technician – Fiber & RF (Junior Field / JF) is responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both fiber optic and RF networks. This role ensures reliable network connectivity for residential and business customers while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Fiber Network:
Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables at customer premises and network sites.
Test fiber links using OTDR, Power Meter, and Light Source to ensure proper connectivity.
Identify and repair fiber breaks, cuts, or signal issues.
Maintain detailed records of fiber routes, splicing points, and service reports.
RF Network:
Install and maintain wireless networking devices including routers, CPEs, and access points.
Align and configure RF antennas and towers for optimal signal coverage.
Troubleshoot RF connectivity issues, signal interference, or degradation.
Conduct site surveys to ensure proper network coverage and performance.
Customer Interaction:
Coordinate with customers for installations and service support.
Educate customers on proper handling of devices and network equipment.
Ensure all on-site work is neat, professional, and minimally disruptive.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain service logs, installation records, and test reports.
Update Field Supervisor / NOC regarding job completion, pending issues, or escalations.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols while working on rooftops, poles, and underground ducts.
Ensure all installations comply with telecom standards and company policies.
