
Job Summary
The Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for building electrical control panels, performing wiring tasks, assembling and populating printed circuit boards (PCBs), executing precision soldering, and ensuring quality and safety standards in the assembly of electronic and electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Control Panel Assembly & Wiring
Assemble electrical control panels and enclosures according to schematics and technical drawings.
Mount and secure components such as relays, breakers, terminal blocks, PLCs, transformers, and contactors.
Cut, strip, terminate, and route wires; build wire harnesses and cable assemblies.Read and interpret wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Perform continuity, insulation and basic electrical testing on panels for quality assurance.
PCB Assembly & Soldering
Assemble and populate PCBs with through-hole and surface mount devices per layout instructions.
Perform manual soldering and rework of electronic components using soldering irons, hot air and appropriate fixtures.
Inspect solder joints and component placement to ensure conformance with quality standards.
Follow ESD and safety procedures during PCB handling and assembly.
Testing & Documentation
Conduct visual and basic functional tests post-assembly.
Record assembly and test results accurately; document rework and non-conformances.
Maintain work area, tools, and inventory in a clean and organized manner.
Follow all company safety procedures and quality protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational: Diploma/ITI in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related technical field.
Experience: Preferably 0–3 years practical experience in electrical assembly, wiring, or PCB assembly.
Strong soldering skills with attention to detail and consistent quality.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
Competence with hand tools, test instruments (multimeter), and soldering equipment.
Good manual dexterity, visual acuity, and hand-eye coordination.
