The PNG Driver is responsible for safe and timely transportation of materials, tools, equipment, and manpower related to Piped Natural Gas (PNG) projects. The role ensures proper vehicle maintenance, adherence to safety norms, and coordination with site teams for smooth logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Transportation & Logistics
Safely transport PNG materials (MDPE pipes, GI pipes, meters, tools, fittings) to project sites.
Pick up and deliver materials from suppliers, warehouses, and plant locations.
Transport site engineers, supervisors, and workers when required.
Ensure timely delivery as per daily schedule.
2. Vehicle Maintenance
Conduct daily vehicle inspection (fuel level, engine oil, brakes, lights, tires).
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and good working condition.
Ensure timely servicing, insurance, PUC, and registration renewal.
Report any mechanical issues immediately.
3. Documentation & Record Keeping
Maintain vehicle logbook (distance, fuel consumption, trips).
Collect and submit delivery challans, gate passes, and material documents.
Assist store team during loading and unloading.
4. Safety & Compliance
Follow road safety regulations and company safety policies.
Ensure proper handling and securing of gas-related materials.
Use required PPE during site entry.
Avoid overloading and unsafe driving practices.
5. Support Activities
Assist in minor site logistics coordination.
Support emergency material movement if required.
Coordinate with Store Incharge and Site Supervisor for dispatch planning.
