Role Overview

As a Rigger at SISCO Energy, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, positioning, installation, and securing of heavy industrial equipment, fabricated components, pressure vessels, structural assemblies, and machinery throughout the manufacturing facility and at project sites. Your role is vital in supporting fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance operations while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Rigging & Load Handling

• Set up and use rigging equipment (slings, chains, pulleys, shackles, hooks) to lift and move heavy loads.
• Assess load weight, balance, and secure attachment points before lifting.
• Coordinate with crane operators, forklift drivers, and supervisors during lifts.

2. Installation Support

• Assist in positioning and aligning heavy machinery and fabricated structures during installation and assembly.
• Level and secure equipment to foundation points as per engineering requirements.

3. Safety & Compliance

• Conduct pre-use inspections of rigging gear and report defects.
• Follow company safety practices, PPE requirements, and relevant standards (e.g., OSHA guidelines).
• Identify and correct rigging hazards before operation.

4. Maintenance of Rigging Tools

• Maintain rigging tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Report maintenance needs to supervisors and ensure calibrated gear is available.

5. Team Coordination

• Work closely with production teams, supervisors, engineers, and contractors to plan heavy lifts.
• Communicate effectively using hand signals and radios during operations.

Qualifications & Skills

• High School diploma, ITI / technical certification, or equivalent in a related discipline.
• Rigger certification or formal rigging training is preferred / mandatory.
• 3–5+ years of rigging experience in heavy fabrication, industrial manufacturing, or construction.
• Strong knowledge of rigging equipment, load handling, and safety protocols.
• Ability to read lifting plans and interpret basic engineering instructions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to perform lifting, climbing, and positioning at job sites.

Work Environment

• Shop floor and fabrication areas.
• Outdoor or client project sites when required.
• Exposure to heavy machinery and moving equipment; adherence to safety protocols is essential.
