Description

Job Summary

The Agronomist will be responsible for promoting the Sathyam Smart Farm (SSF) , identifying and enrolling potential farmers/customers, providing agronomic guidance, and supporting project implementation. The role requires strong knowledge in crop science, pest and disease management, farmer engagement, and field-level business development, aligned with target-based performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Agronomy & Farmer Advisory

  • Provide technical guidance to farmers on crop history, crop management, pest and disease identification, remedies, and recommendations.
  • Support farmers with best agronomic practices to improve productivity and farm performance.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring the SSF concept at the field level.

2. Customer Identification & Enrollment

  • Identify potential farmer/customer base for the SSF concept.
  • Generate and convert enquiries into business opportunities.
  • Enroll suitable customers into the Sathyam Smart Farm model.
  • Identify customers who require turnkey farming projects and support conversion into revenue.

3. Product & Brand Promotion

  • Promote Sathyam products and SSF services to farmers and rural customers.
  • Conduct field demonstrations and presentations to explain the SSF concept effectively.
  • Support brand promotion activities, farmer meetings, awareness campaigns, and customer engagement programs.
  • Participate in agri expos, exhibitions, and farmer group presentations.

4. Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain regular contact and periodical visits with enrolled customers.
  • Build strong relationships with farmers to ensure service satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Generate repeat orders and reference orders through customer engagement and service follow-up.
  • Track customer history and implementation progress of the SSF concept.

5. Target Achievement & Reporting

  • Manage assigned territory with a minimum coverage of 80 km radius and 500 acres per agronomist.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets as assigned by management.
  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on activities, farmer visits, leads, conversions, and project updates.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly review meetings and present performance against KRA / KPI metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture / Agronomy / Agri Science or related field.
  • Basic to strong understanding of:
    • Crop cultivation practices
    • Pest and disease management
    • Farmer advisory and field support
    • Agricultural input / product promotion
