We are Hiring Quality Assurance & Control- Lab Assistant for  Ready Mix Concrete Plant located at Chennai.

 

  • Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering (1st Preference)/ Any Diploma and Degree Holders.
  • Job Location – Chennai
  • No.of Vacancies – 10 (Ten)
  • Salary during Probationary period – Rs 18000/-
  •  Salary after Probationary period – Rs 21000 to Rs 24000/-

Role Of Quality Assurance & Control – Civil Engineer

A Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) Civil Engineer ensures the production, quality control, and timely delivery of specialized concrete mixes from batching plants to construction sites. They manage mix designs, raw material testing, plant operations, and technical customer support to meet structural specifications, strength requirements, and construction schedules. 

 

 

 

 

 

Key roles of an RMC Civil Engineer include:

 

  • Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC): Testing raw materials (cement, aggregates, admixtures) and performing cube tests for compressive strength, slump tests and field qube testing for workability, and monitoring moisture testing.
  • Mix Design: Developing and concrete mix designs based on client requirements, structural loads, and environmental exposure.
  • Plant Operations Management: Overseeing daily production, supervising baching plant operators, calibrating weighing equipment, and managing the automated computerized mixing processes.
  • Logistics & Scheduling: Coordinating with sites for timely delivery using transit mixers to prevent setting during transport, ensuring efficient placement, and reducing on-site wastage.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Visiting client sites to resolve the problems.
  • Sales & Marketing Support: Providing technical guidance to customers regarding product selection and handling feedback to improve product performance. 

Performance Metrics

  • Consistency in concrete strength and workability.
  • Accuracy of test reporting and documentation.
  • Reduction of non-conforming, rejected, or returned loads.
