Description

Civil Site Engineer acts as the primary technical manager on construction sites, overseeing daily operations, supervising subcontractors, and ensuring projects adhere to safety, quality, and structural plans. Key responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, managing material logistics, conducting quality control checks, maintaining schedules, and solving site-specific technical issues. 

 

Core Responsibilities and Duties

  • Site Management & Supervision: Daily supervision of construction activities, including directing workers, managing subcontractors, and coordinating labor and equipment to optimize efficiency.
  • Technical Implementation:

 Interpreting structural and architectural drawings and performing layout, leveling, and setting out of the work to ensure accuracy.

  • Quality Control (QC): Inspecting construction materials, checking concrete strength, verifying steel fabrication and ensuring work meets building codes and design specifications.
  • Safety Enforcement: Implementing and monitoring health and safety protocols (PPE compliance, site safety protocols) to reduce risk for personnel.
  • Planning & Scheduling: Creating daily/weekly work schedules to ensure project milestones are met on time.
  • Material Logistics: Ordering, tracking, and verifying the quality and quantity of construction materials delivered to the site.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Preparing daily site reports, progress reports, and maintaining site diaries/registers. 

Key Skills Required

  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in structural design analysis and civil engineering principles.
  • Software Proficiency: Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Excel for scheduling and drafting.
  • Communication: Effective coordination with contractors, consultants, and clients.
