
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe operation, inspection, and upkeep of all equipment at the Auto LPG dispensing station. The role ensures smooth functioning of storage, pumping, and dispensing systems while following safety guidelines issued by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) and the Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD).
Key Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance
• Carry out monthly and quarterly preventive maintenance of LPG pumps, compressors, vaporizers, dispensers, pipelines, valves, and gauges
• Follow the prescribed maintenance checklist and schedule
Dispenser and Nozzle Checks
• Clean strainers and filters
• Inspect hoses for wear and damage
• Check nozzle operation and break-away coupling
• Conduct soap solution test at joints to detect leaks
Pump, Compressor, and Vaporizer Inspection
• Check for leakage, unusual sound, vibration, and overheating
• Verify pump discharge pressure
• Monitor vaporizer temperature and performance
Storage Tank and Pipeline Inspection
• Perform leak tests on flange joints, valves, and welded points
• Inspect pipelines for corrosion or damage
• Drain water from the tank as per schedule
Safety System Checks
• Ensure proper working of Remote Operated Valves (ROVs), pressure gauges, and temperature gauges
• Check Emergency Shutdown System (ESD)
• Ensure fire safety equipment is available and in working condition
Breakdown Support
• Attend to equipment failures and restore operations quickly
• Report major issues to the service provider or supervisor
Monitoring and Records
• Record daily tank pressure, temperature, and dip readings
• Maintain logbook for maintenance activities, leak tests, and breakdowns
• Support inspections by PESO and oil company officials
Daily Routine Tasks
• Visual inspection of the entire site, pipelines, and fencing
• Soap solution leak test at critical joints and nozzles
• Check pump condition and pressure readings
• Maintain housekeeping and safety at the station
• Lubricate moving parts where required
Required Skills
• Knowledge of LPG equipment and basic maintenance
• Ability to detect and control LPG leaks
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of safety practices as per OISD and PESO
• Ability to handle fire safety equipment and respond during emergencies
Qualification & Experience
• ITI -fitter / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical
• 1–2 years of experience in maintenance of LPG / petroleum / gas handling equipment preferred
• Language: Telugu or Hindi (added skill)
