Description

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Installation & Electrical Works

  • Install PV modules, string cables, DC combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, LT/HT panels, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Perform DC and AC cable laying, dressing, glanding, ferruling, and termination as per approved drawings.
  • Install conduits, cable trays, raceways, junction boxes, isolators, and protection devices.
  • Execute earthing and lightning protection systems as per project specifications.
  • Ensure proper labeling and identification of all electrical components.

Testing & Commissioning

  • Conduct continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, and earth resistance tests.
  • Verify string voltage, current, inverter parameters, and protection settings.
  • Assist in synchronization, energization, and commissioning of the solar power plant.
  • Record test reports and rectify installation defects before handover.

Maintenance Support

  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in PV systems.
  • Replace defective cables, connectors, fuses, breakers, and other electrical components.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and periodic inspection of electrical equipment.
  • Maintain tools, testing instruments, and work records.

Quality & Documentation

  • Execute work in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
  • Maintain daily work reports, material consumption records, and installation checklists.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams for smooth project execution.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Follow all electrical safety procedures, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Properly use PPE and fall-protection equipment while working at heights.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with company HSE policies and statutory regulations.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, near misses, accidents, or equipment defects. (SCGJ)

Qualification & Experience

  • ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 1–5 years of experience in Solar PV installation or electrical project execution.
  • Freshers with relevant technical training may also be considered.

  • Solar PV O&M Engineer
  • Solar PV Site Surveyor

Additional Skills


Required Skills Knowledge of DC & AC electrical systems and solar PV components. Ability to read single-line diagrams (SLD), electrical drawings, and cable schedules. Hands-on experience with cable termination, testing instruments, and electrical tools. Understanding of electrical safety practices, grounding, and commissioning procedures. Good communication, teamwork, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
