Job Summary

The Optometrist is responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision assessment, refraction, diagnosis of refractive errors, dispensing optical prescriptions, assisting ophthalmologists in patient evaluation and treatment, and ensuring quality eye care in accordance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and ethical practices.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.
  • Perform objective and subjective refraction.
  • Assess visual acuity, binocular vision, colour vision, and depth perception.
  • Diagnose refractive errors and prescribe spectacles and contact lenses.
  • Screen patients for common eye diseases and abnormalities.
  • Refer patients requiring medical or surgical intervention to the Ophthalmologist.

Qualification

  • Bachelor of Science in Optometry (B.Sc. Optometry) / Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom) / Diploma in Optometry

  • Experience

  • Freshers or Experienced candidates may apply.
  • Experience in a hospital or eye care centre is preferred.
