Laboratory Testing and Quality Control
Perform daily wet end and dry end tests on paper machines to monitor fiber quality, moisture content, brightness, strength, and other critical parameters.
Conduct chemical analysis of raw materials (e.g., pulp, fillers, additives) and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Maintain calibration and accuracy of laboratory instruments and test equipment.
Process Monitoring and Optimization
Monitor and adjust chemical dosages in the papermaking process to maintain product quality and reduce waste.
Investigate and resolve quality issues, including defects, inconsistencies, or deviations in production.
Collaborate with production engineers to optimize process parameters for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Chemical Management
Manage inventory and usage of chemicals used in paper production, ensuring safe storage and handling
Prepare and maintain chemical safety data sheets (SDS) and compliance documentation.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Record, analyze, and interpret test results, preparing detailed reports for management and production teams.
Use statistical methods to identify trends, predict quality issues, and recommend process improvements.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure all laboratory and production-related chemical activities comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Implement and follow safe work practices in the lab and on the mill floor.
Collaboration and Training
Work closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to align lab results with operational needs.
Train junior staff or lab assistants on proper testing procedures and safety protocols.
