Job Summary:

As a Marine Fitter cum Rigger, you will play a critical role in the maintenance and repair of marine vessels and equipment. Your primary responsibilities will involve fitting and rigging components, ensuring the safe operation of marine machinery, and contributing to the overall functionality and safety of vessels. You will collaborate closely with the marine engineering team to execute tasks efficiently and maintain a high standard of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Marine Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on marine machinery, including engines, pumps, winches, and hydraulic systems.

  2. Fitting and Rigging: Properly fit and rig components, including heavy machinery, using hoists, cranes, and other lifting equipment. Ensure the secure positioning of equipment on vessels.

  3. Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  4. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to accurately assemble and install components.

  5. Welding and Fabrication: Conduct basic welding and fabrication tasks as required for equipment repair and modification.

  6. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work is completed to high-quality standards, meeting industry regulations and company guidelines.

  7. Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, as well as heavy equipment such as cranes and forklifts.

  8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage and equipment history.

  9. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with marine engineers, mechanics, and other team members to plan and execute maintenance and repair projects efficiently.

  10. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures or accidents, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.

  11. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, safety regulations, and new technologies to enhance skills and knowledge.
