Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and responsible Factory Supervisor to oversee daily shop floor operations and ensure smooth and efficient production activities. The candidate will be responsible for manpower management, production planning, quality monitoring, and ensuring safety and discipline inside the factory.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of machine operators, welders, fitters, and helpers on the shop floor.
Ensure production targets are met as per the work schedule and delivery timelines.
Allocate work to workers and monitor performance and productivity.
Review and interpret job cards, production drawings, and customer requirements.
Ensure the quality of work by conducting in-process and final inspections.
Maintain discipline, attendance, and shift allocation among workers.
Ensure the proper use of tools, machines, and raw materials to avoid wastage.
Monitor safety practices and ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all workers.
Coordinate with stores, quality, and maintenance departments for seamless operations.
Train and guide workers on best practices, work methods, and process improvements.
Record production data, downtime, and submit daily reports to management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical / Production / Fabrication or relevant field.
5+ years of experience in shop floor supervision, preferably in fabrication or engineering units.
Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, fitting, and machining processes.
Ability to read engineering/fabrication drawings.
Good leadership, communication, and people management skills.
Familiarity with 5S, safety standards, and basic production planning.
