CNC Operator – Roles & Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines (lathe, milling, turning, VMC, etc.)
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
Load programs and input correct tooling offsets and parameters
Perform trial runs to ensure machines produce parts within specifications
Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as required
Inspect finished components using measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, gauges)
Identify and report machine malfunctions or quality issues
Replace or adjust tools and inserts to maintain product quality
Maintain production records and job logs
Ensure adherence to quality standards and tolerance requirements
Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE
Maintain machine cleanliness and follow 5S practices
Coordinate with quality inspectors and supervisors
Minimize material waste and downtime
