Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer (C License Holder)

Role Summary

We are looking for a qualified Electrical Engineer holding a valid 'C' Grade Electrical Supervisor License (or equivalent State Competency Certificate). The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and statutory compliance of the facility’s electrical infrastructure. You will act as the authorized person to liaise with the Electrical Inspectorate and ensure the plant meets all Indian Electricity Rules (IE Rules).

Key Responsibilities

1. Statutory Compliance & Licensing

• Legal Authorization: Act as the official license holder for the facility’s electrical installation as per State Electrical Licensing Board regulations.

• Liaison: Coordinate with state electricity providers (e.g., TNEB, BESCOM) and Electrical Inspectorate for periodic inspections, load sanctions, and renewals.

• Documentation: Maintain all statutory registers, single-line diagrams (SLD), and test reports (Form F/H, earth pit testing) required for audits.

2. Electrical Maintenance & Operations

• HV/LV Systems: Supervise the operation and maintenance of HT Yards, Transformers (OLTC), VCB/ACB Breakers, Diesel Generators (DG Sets), and PCC/MCC panels.

• Preventive Maintenance: Create and execute PM schedules for motors, switchgears, and lighting systems to prevent downtime.

• Troubleshooting: Lead the analysis of electrical breakdowns, identifying root causes (RCA) and implementing corrective actions immediately.

3. Power Management & Efficiency

• Power Factor: Monitor and maintain the Power Factor (PF) close to unity (0.99) using APFC panels to avoid penalties.

• Consumption Monitoring: Track daily energy consumption, analyze wastage, and implement energy-saving initiatives (e.g., VFD installation, LED upgrades).

4. Safety & Team Supervision

• Safety Protocols: Enforce Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure all electrical work complies with IE Rules 1956 and safety standards.

• Team Management: Supervise and train electricians/wiremen on safe working practices and technical troubleshooting.

Requirements

• License: Must possess a valid 'C' License (Supervisory Competency Certificate) issued by the State Electrical Licensing Board. (Candidates without this license need not apply).

• Education: Diploma or degree

• Experience:
  Diploma Holders: Minimum 1–2 years of industrial experience.

• Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with HT/LT panels, Star-Delta starters, and VFDs.

  • Ability to read Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and control circuits.

• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving ability and leadership skills to manage a team of technicians.

Preferred Skills (Bonus)

• Knowledge of PLC/SCADA basics.

• Experience handling 11kV/33kV substations.
