Description

A uPVC window fabricator manufactures, assembles, and finishes custom-made uPVC window and door frames, typically working in a factory setting. Key tasks include reading technical drawings, cutting profiles, welding corners, installing hardware (locks, handles, hinges), and glazing. This role requires high attention to detail, proficiency with machinery, and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Fabrication & Assembly: Measuring, cutting, routing, and welding uPVC profiles to create precise, high-quality frames according to specifications.
Machinery Operation: Operating automated CNC machinery, saws, welding machines, and corner cleaners safely.
Hardware Installation: Fitting steel reinforcement, handles, hinges, locks, and security mechanisms.
Glazing: Installing glass panels and sealing them into the frames securely.
Quality Control: Inspecting finished products for defects, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards before shipping.
Material Handling: Unloading raw profiles, moving materials around the factory, and maintaining a clean work area.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience (usually 2+ years) in uPVC fabrication or similar manufacturing roles.
Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or shop plans.
Tools: Experience using manual, electric, and pneumatic power tools.
Precision: Strong attention to detail and ability to work with strict tolerances
Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long periods, lift, and move heavy window frames.

Typical Qualifications:

A minimum of 10th/+2, ITI, Diploma, or relevant vocational training in mechanical/CNC operations is often preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Factory-Based: Working in a noisy, fast-paced manufacturing facility.
Physical Fitness: Requires standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive motions throughout the shift.
Safety Conscious: Strict adherence to health and safety regulations (PPE usage).
