Key Responsibilities

1. Statutory & Legal Compliance

Ensure compliance with Factories Act, 1948, Tamil Nadu Factory Rules, and other applicable safety laws.
Liaise with Factory Inspectorate, Fire Department, Pollution Control Board, and other statutory authorities.
Maintain and update all safety-related registers, records, and licenses.
Assist during government inspections and ensure timely closure of observations.

2. Safety Management

Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments.
Develop and implement safe operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Ensure proper use of PPE and safety devices.
Monitor unsafe acts and conditions and recommend corrective actions.

3. Training & Awareness

Conduct safety induction training for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
Organize periodic safety training, mock drills, and toolbox talks.
Promote safety awareness through posters, signage, and campaigns.

Ensure contractors follow safety rules and procedures.
Conduct safety briefings before hazardous jobs.
