
1. Job Overview
A Fabrication Fitter is responsible for assembling, shaping, and installing metal structures and components as per engineering drawings. They play a key role in manufacturing units, workshops, and production industries.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Fabrication Work
Cut, bend, and shape metal materials (steel, aluminum, etc.)
Perform fitting of fabricated parts like frames, supports, and structures
Use tools such as grinders, drills, and cutting machines
B. Reading Drawings
Interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints
Follow dimensions, tolerances, and specifications accurately
C. Assembly
Assemble fabricated components into final structures
Ensure proper alignment and fitting of parts
D. Welding Support
Assist welders in preparation and fitting work
Hold and position parts for welding
E. Measurement & Inspection
Measure materials using tools like:
Vernier caliper
Measuring tape
Steel rule
Ensure accuracy and quality of fabrication
