Primary Responsibilities 1. Machine Setup & Operation Load raw plastic material into the hopper. Start up machines and bring them to correct operating temperature and pressure. Install molds into the press according to work orders. 2. Monitoring & Quality Control Monitor cycle times, temperature, pressure, and cooling systems. Inspect parts visually and with measurement tools (calipers, gauges) for defects (flash, short shots, warping, sink marks). Adjust machine settings to correct quality issues. 3. Troubleshooting Identify common molding defects and adjust process parameters. Clear minor jams or material blockages. Recognize when a mold needs cleaning or repair. 4. Post-Processing Trim excess material (flash) from parts. De-gate parts (remove from runner system). Grind and recycle scrap plastic (re-grind). 5. Safety & Maintenance Follow lockout/tagout procedures. Keep work area clean and free of oil/spilled pellets. Perform basic maintenance (greasing, cleaning platens, checking hydraulic oil).
